How can a train engine pull enormous weight with one diesel engine and autos can’t? Could this technology be applied to autos?

Here is the engine of a diesel train, it produces about 3,200 HP:-

And here is a V8 car engine, it produces about 300HP:-

The difference in power answers the 1st part of the question. As for the 2nd part, hybrid cars use the same technology, however, even hybrids can’t pull a train.
